I must explain this gem holds close to my heart. The reason is that the figure is of my daughter she did not pose for this though. This painting was actually a "Plein Aire" piece. Painted on location in Pilar,New Mexico with couple of good friends. As it was placed on my easel it just seemed to ask for more (no figure at the conception) but as all creative souls we search for the story. I had remembered a photograph of my daughter in our backyard when see was three years old and was reaching down to a cat. I sketched her in but the that image of her and the cat just didn't seem plausable. The chickens seemed to say Northern New Mexico so this is an example of asking the painting of what it needs.
It was also honored as it was exhibited in a International Exhibtion of Oil Painters of America at Sage Creek Gallery in Santa New Mexico in 2009.
